Dance Dance Revolution Family Mat (?????????????? ??????) was released by Konami in 2001 to the Japanese video game market. It was designed as a plug-n-play game unit, requiring no video game console. However, unlike later plug-n-play units, the DDR Family Mat also had an expandable music library that allowed users to play different songs on separately purchasable cartridges.
